Shop ’til You… Nap

What’s not to love? 🙂

Dear Nahla and Jaden,

This entire winter has been oddly warm. Well, that’s not quite the right way to put it. Normally, January, February, and even March are bitterly cold. This year they’ve been… pleasant. Today was in the 80s which is insane for this time of year. Anyway, because it was so nice out and you guys have enjoyed going outside so much we decided that we needed to get you guys some play shoes. So, off to the mall we went.

We went to the outlet mall because one of your many uncles works at Converse and he was able to give us a pretty nice discount on some Chucks. As much as we love having you both in those adorable baby Uggs we needed to switch it up. Nahla, you tend to trip when you have yours on.

We don’t usually go to the outlet mall but there is a Converse store there and a Carter’s and a Children’s Place. One stop shopping, ideal when you have two little babies. You two desperately needed Spring and Summer clothes because, Jaden, you’re a freaking MONSTER. But we love every single chubby little pound on you. Almost 30 pounds… that’s a lot of love chunky butt! And Nahla, you have TONS of clothes but they’re all wintery clothes. Actually, mommy and daddy rarely shop for you because everyone else has bought you so many outfits. Grandma is constantly bringing home outfits and you’ve managed to remain in 18-24 months for a while, unlike your brother.

While I sit in the loft writing this I can see the shopping bags piled up against the wall. In hindsight, we may have gone a little overboard (overboard is the perfect word actually, because much of the clothing had a nautical theme to it… convenient considering your daddy is in the Navy). If I had to guess I would say you guys have about… 20 new outfits. Ummm… at least I can say we used a coupon! And everything was on some sort of sale.

The fact that you guys wear the same size clothing is kind of funny. You also wear the same size shoes. It’s convenient cause you can share unisex stuff. I’m willing to bet that by Christmas 2012 you guys are going to look just like twins. Just as well, you’re going to be in the same grade and I’m sure everyone will assume you are twins, anyway.

Oh, and you both behaved as expected. Pretty calm and relaxed to start out. Then Nahla, you got pretty rowdy and wanted to walk around every store like you owned the place. Jaden you managed to stay chill in the stroller for about 80% of the time. Then daddy carried you for as long as his arms could handle it. By the time we were leaving the final store you were both grabbing at everything and running around acting wild. And on the way home… you both fell asleep. Mommy understands. Sometimes shopping can be so exhausting. But don’t worry sweeties, with me and daddy as your parents you’ll learn to love it soon enough. 🙂

Can’t wait to enjoy the nice weather with you guys in your cute new outfits. We’ll make sure to take lots of pictures to show daddy when he gets out of bootcamp.

Love,

Mommy

You guys already love being outside.

You’ve become quite the little dancer. Definitely your father’s child.

Thanks 🙂 Da’Vi took them and his friend edited them. It really makes me want to learn how to use photoshop.
