Coming Together with #FamilyTeaTime

Last year, my little family took a temporary residence in my mother’s home and since our departure (a month ago) Nahla hasn’t been ableĀ to spend much time with her favorite person Grandma.

You see, Grandma is a nursing student and mostly lives inside her studying dungeon. Nahla, being 2 years old, isn’t ableĀ to drive herself to Grandma’s house everyday, but I’m sure she would love to.

I decided it was time for these two lovely ladies to spend some quality time together and what better way than with some quality tea time. (You see what I did there? :))

So, off I went to Walmart, my go-to store for groceries, and went in search of some tea. I wasn’t looking for the regular hot-tea bags, for three reasons:

1) Because it would’ve been too time-consuming to make between the end of church service and Nahla’s nap time (which is when we had scheduled tea time).

2) Because my little one is impatient and waiting for tea to cool could’ve ended badly.

3) They both like iced tea – but I wanted something easy to make that wouldn’t require much waiting.

After spending about 2 minutes looking through the endless tea varieties at Walmart, I found exactly what I was looking for – NEW Lipton Tea & Honey Pitcher Packets. To see more photos from my shopping trip be sure to check out my Google+ Album.

How cool are these pitcher packets? I’m obsessed with the little packets that you pour into water bottles. I go through about 2 boxes a week. The Lipton Tea & Honey pitcher packets are meant to beĀ poured into a quart of water (32 oz) instead of a bottle of water (16 oz).

I decided to pick up the Iced Green Tea Blackberry Pomegranate and the Iced Black Tea Lemon. I love that they are healthy at only 5 calories per 8 fl oz serving.

*Replacing sugary drinks with drinks like Lipton Tea & Honey are an excellent way to cut out empty calories from your diet. My children hardly ever get juice. Their sippy cups are always filled with low-calorie tea.

Nahla and “Gaga” both enjoyed their Lipton Tea & Honey Blackberry Pomegranate tea paired with a variety of yummy sweets and berries. It only took me about 2 minutes to whip up a full pitcher of tea, I poured it over ice, and they drank it up. I loved that the tea tastes nice and sweet without all the calories.

#FamilyTeaTime is a great way to bring people closer together. The pitcher packets are easy to make, taste great, and are low in calories. I’ll definitely be repurchasing these New Lipton Tea & Honey pitcher packets for my family.
