Busy Bee

Managed to sneak in a date night before he left.

Last week Da’Vi took time off of work and we spent time together as a family. We ended up being busier than I anticipated so my blog was on the back burner a bit. But he left yesterday and will be starting boot camp tomorrow.

My dad was in town so I tried spending some time with him. Da’Vi had some things to do and people to see before leaving. We managed to spend time with a lot of people and accomplish quite a bit in these last ten days. Along with Da’Vi going to boot camp, my sister Sandra and her entire family moved to Georgia today. So, last Saturday we had a little family get together with arrachera (Da’Vi’s favorite food of all time) and tons of homemade lemonade. I tested my Prairie Fest recipe on everyone and judging by everyone’s reactions I think The Sugar Bar is going to have some serious success this summer! I also whipped up some adorable cake pops (which I posted on my Instagram and Twitter) and peppermint brownies for the gathering.

I’m trying to adjust to taking care of the kids all day and night by myself. I do get some help from my family but at night I’m on my own and that means I need to get used to getting even less sleep.

I’ve also been trying to keep up with my school work, some of my posts this week were actually journalism assignments. School will be over in a few weeks but these last few classes are the most difficult and require more time from me because of various large projects/assignments that are due. I’ll be happy to enjoy some extra free time (if you can call it that) once they’re done.

You may have also noticed that I decided to start a YouTube channel! I’m actually pretty freaking excited about this, as it is something that I have wanted to do for years. It requires so much work though (lighting, filming, editing, uploading, re-editing). I feel like if there were just another 4-6 everyday I could conquer the world. Is that too much to ask?

I’m still doing my best to fit everything into my day. I do prioritize and unfortunately RavingsByRae isn’t in the top five at the moment. But I’m sure after these next two weeks I will be better adjusted and have a schedule to make sure nothing in my life gets neglected.
