The family and I have been jetting from coast to coast this month and it has kind of left my head spinning. After getting back from a quick business trip to NYC I had to turn around and get us all packed up for an exciting trip to Palm Springs.
We joined some of our favorite YouTubing families for a fun creator centered conference called Clamour Summit. I didn’t know anything about the event, except that my kids would be getting tons of exclusive toys and I would need to do some quick shopping for all the pool parties Clamour 19 had planned for us.
My first stop for a quick new outfit was Walmart. I actually ordered a few items online with their quick 2-day shipping. Their online selection is pretty impressive these days. I’ve been loving their We Dress America campaign and getting some inspo from their summer trends looks.
I also popped into a local Walmart to see what kind of swim and denim they would have available. I tend to do most of my shopping online these days, but there is nothing like being able to feel the quality of an item or gauge the stretch on some denim shorts. They had so many selections available and at amazing prices, as usual.
I fell in love with this swimsuit top and bikini bottom when I saw it online. This mustard color has been flooding my closet lately, and I’m not mad at it. I saw sooo many denim shorts while I was shopping, so I picked up a few pairs. They’re stretchy, a mid-rise, and go great with any casual summer look.
The entire outfit actually started with this tropical cover-up. I saw it online and in-store and knew I needed to have it. I got it in a 1X, but it was a bit fitted around my hips (because there is a low seam that can be hard to see) so I probably could’ve done a 2X. The whole outfit was perfect to take me from mid-day creator panels, to slime fest competitions, and late night pool parties with the kids.
For reference, I got the bikini top in a 2X (but it ran large so a 1X would’ve worked for me), the bikini bottom in a 1X, the denim shorts in an 18, and the cover-up in a 1X, as mentioned. Walmart is a great place to pick up affordable plus size clothes for the summer… and every other season!
