This weekend seemed to fly right by. I wonder if it has anything to do with Daylight Savings… that lost hour really shortened things up. Well, I made the most of my 47 hours! Saturday was spent getting my haircut, shopping for baking accessories (my favorite past time), and grocery shopping (my least favorite past time), then we took the babies out to dinner at Red Robin.
Having dinner at a busy restaurant with a 16 month old and a 6 month old is always a fun experience. We discovered that Nahla is fond of mustard. She dipped broccoli, chicken, fries, and of course Gerber puffs in mustard. By the end of dinner Jaden was trying to escape his chair and Nahla had bright yellow crust all over her face and hands. Â As usual, she was the center of attention. The tables around us were all getting a kick out of her new found love.
Sunday was a bit more calm. I spent the majority of the day in the kitchen. It was actually very relaxing. When I feel stressed or tense, cooking and baking help ease everything. I like doing it on Sunday’s so that I start the week off fresh. I started the day by making the Sausage Potato Bake. After everyone ate, Jaden went down for his nap and we got to work on my Sunday Sweets!
I knew I was going to be doing my Chipotle at Home (post coming soon) so I didn’t want to bake anything. Instead, I made a ton of different dipped pretzels knots.
Dipped in milk chocolate, covered in Twix, and drizzled with caramel. Sweet baby cheez-its. SO good!
Milk chocolate with Oreo crumbles.
Not only were these so fun and easy to make but it also gave me an excuse to use my brand spanking new KitchenAid Mixer! I bought it on Amazon for $169.99!! I don’t usually use multiple exclamation points but I have been wanting one for so long and they normally cost $350 so getting one for more than 50% off was so exciting.
My lovely boyfriend used a grinder attachment that my mom gave me to crush all of the toppings.
The best part about making all of these yummy pretzels is that it helped cement my new business idea. I have a lot of work ahead of me but I know with the help of my family I am going to be able to finally fulfill a huge goal of mine: to own a business doing something I love AND doing it while still being a stay at home mom.
I’m aiming to ‘open shop’ in about one month. I will be sure to keep you guys posted along the way. I’m so excited. 🙂
These were very delish!
