Many thanks to the Illinois Lottery for hooking it up with tickets to an
amazing concert as part of the Anything’s Possible Music Series.

I can relate to Liquor Store Blues, by Bruno Mars, on so many levels. I’m here for you, Bruno. I’ll even comb that gorgeous pompadour that you rock. Okay, but seriously, I love me some Bruno. When the Illinois Lottery approached me with the opportunity to go see Bruno Mars live on his Moonshine Jungle Tour, I was all over it.
Bruno is only one of the many amazing artists that are a part of the Anything’s Possible Music Series. The Illinois Lottery’s Anything’s Possible Music Series features over 30 amazing concerts, with something to please just about everyone. It includes theĀ Vans Warped Tour, Aerosmith, Panic! At The Disco, Robin Thicke, Foreigner and a whole bunch of other great artists, courtesy of Live Nation.
I went to the concert with my brother and planned to get there nice and early so we could scope out theĀ First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, as I hadn’t been there in about 7 years. Turns out, traffic from the western suburbs to Tinley Park… is no joke. Especially on a Friday night. It took us about 2 hours to get there, so if you’re heading to one of the concerts at the Amphitheatre this summer, I would suggest leaving extra early.
We didn’t have much time before the show started to look around, but I did stop by the Illinois Lottery booth to see what they had going on. The folks working the booth were super helpful and their booth was pretty cool. If you bought $5 worth of tickets, you could play a little scratch off game on their iPad, and win a prize. I won some bright blue stunner shades and $2. Awww yeah.
Also, they have an awesome sweepstakes going on, where you can win a Flyaway Trip for a Live Nation show plus $5000 cash! You also get a $1 instant ticket just for signing up at their booth.
Anywho, after visiting their booth and taking a terrifying trip into the pitch black porta potty, we headed to the VIP deck for some Bruno action. It was a nice little deck just to the right of the stage where Bruno and his hella talented band/back up dancers were getting down for a couple of hours.
Like I said, this wasn’t my first concert at theĀ Ā First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre, but WOW this place was totally packed. Last time I was there, I was actually able to sit down and chill out in the field (aka the cheap seats). There was not a single person sitting down for the duration of Bruno’s concert. The amphitheater was completely packed and Bruno put on one hell of a show.
I KNOW this won’t be my last concert from the #APMusicSeries this summer. There are just way too many great artists on the lineup and I can’t resist a good concert. I like to live my life in a Wiz Khalifa approved manner, just livingĀ young, and wild, and free.Ā PS: Did I mention Wiz is a part of the #APMusicSeries, and will be here August 5th? Eeek!
