I woke up this morning with a hankering for pizza. As it was only 8 am I didn’t think it was socially acceptable for me to make one… yet. But when 10 am rolled around and my craving was still in high gear I decided I’d try something to satisfy my hunger without having to make an entire pizza.
I raided the fridge and found pizza sauce, cheeses, and pepperoni… then I spotted the crescent rolls and instantly knew they would be the perfect ‘crust’ for my pseudo-pizza.
Twenty minutes later… my daughter and I were noshing on some yummy homemade pizza rolls. I actually prefer them to the frozen pizza rolls and I am happy to say I no longer have a craving for pizza.
So here’s what I did…
Ingredients:
1 roll of Pillsbury crescents
24 pepperoni’s
4 oz of mozzarella cheese, sliced into 8 pieces
1/2 – 1 cup of pizza sauce
1-2 tablespoons of parmesan cheese
Step 1:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Then roll out your crescents and spread about tablespoon of sauce on each one.
Step 2:
Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and lay a piece of mozzarella cheese across the bigger end of the dough.
Step 3:
Layer three pepperoni’s across the cheese. Roll the dough tucking the sides as you go.
Step 4:
Put into preheated oven for about 12 minutes or until the dough gets lightly golden.
Step 5:
Let cool for a minute and enjoy! Dip in additional pizza sauce, if desired.
My kids loved these! They were the perfect size for their little hands and less messy. 🙂
